Play Fair in Switzerland

Bern

"12 hours shift - 7 days a week" and "45 hours of forced overtime in one week" was written on the T-shirts of the young women participating at the Women City Run in Bern on June 13 2004.

Also ATTAC Berne were actively supporting the Play Fair at the Olympics campaign. They were collecting signatures and a team of women participated at the 10 km run in Bern.

Lausanne

The Olympic torch arrived in Lausanne, Switzerland on June 24 to visit the IOC. To show the reality behind the Olympic ceremonies, a street theatre visualised the difference between the world of sports and the work at sporting good factories. The people passing by were very interested to know more about the campaign and the petition has been distributed widely.

In Switzerland the campaign was launched on March 25. At the first of May play fair actions took place at a football tournament in Switzerland. The campaign has further distributed campaign cards at football tournaments and skater rallies.

Furthermore we created a Swiss motive with 5 cts. pieces saying that workers earn only 25 cts per hour. The press release was distributed in three languages (German, French, Italian).
