The union participated in this joint demonstration by highlighting
the issues such as freedom of association and collective
bargaining, abolish all Labour Law Reforms carried out by
earlier government, including compulsory over time for women
workers, alternative employment for garment workers who
will be loosing their employment on the ground of MFA phase
-out, implementation of all Labour Laws for informal sector
workers, stop privatisation and resolve ethnic conflict
through genuine discussion. Our union carried a banner in
front of the May Day demonstration highlighting the Olympic
Campaign: "Make Play Fair at The Olympics by Respecting
Workers Rights in The Sportswear Industry!"
